MTV has just confirmed one of the biggest moves for one of its rising comedians; Pete Davidson is joining the cast of "Saturday Night Live." Fans of Pete Davidson are ecstatic for the twenty year old comic from New York who will be this season's addition to Saturday Night Live.
Pete Davidson's story is truly one for the Hollywood blockbusters. Growing up in New York, he started comedy at age 16. He performed for New York City comedy clubs before being spotted by Nick Canon who has since been mentoring the young comic. Canon has featured the young comic in his movie 'School Dance' from where the comic has been able to sign some impressive titles of his own.
The 20 year old comic who can't legally buy beer has appeared in MTV2's 'Guy Code,' Fox's Emmy-winning series 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' and Nick Cannon's very own 'Wild N Out.' In April, he guest appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live where he revealed that he was only twenty years old: "I just dropped out of college, that's my big move this year." Also this year he was named one of Variety's 10 Comics to Watch.
Davidson was handpicked by Saturday Night Live's very own king Lorne Michaels, the comic will join the 40th season of the sketch show. He will have a terrific opportunity to build his career from New York onto the national platform. He will tour the nation and is scheduled to appear at the Arlington Draft House on September 27 in Virginia.
Davidson's cast mates poured out on social media to send their congratulatory messages. Andrew Schulz tweeted "SNL about to look like Flight Club. Congrats to @petedavidson and @CheThinks on the huge W's." Charlamagne Tha God tweeted "Salute to the young god @petedavidson newest cast member of SNL!!"
