Yes, that means any kind of announcement - as evidenced by comedic couple Chelsea Peretti and Jordan Peele, who announced their engagement on Twitter with matching emojis.
It was on Saturday when "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" star Chelsea Peretti tweeted about how Jordan Peele proposed to her during a family talent show:
"My fiancé (lololol) @JordanPeele proposed to me last night during the family talent show lolol."
Meanwhile, Jordan Peele simply tweeted Chelsea Peretti's Twitter handle with a diamond ring emoji.
What's probably so adorable about the tweets is that they seem to have been pre-planned. Mashable reports: "They seem to have coordinated their tweets to send at the exact same time - which is fitting, considering how the couple met."
Last year, Chelsea Peretti gushed to Entertainment Weekly on how she and Jordan Peele met: "Me and Jordan also met on the Internet, on Twitter. [...] He was very complimentary of the Web series I once did."
Several friends and fellow comedians also shared their congratulations and well wishes to the power couple on Twitter.
There was Mindy Kaling who wrote, "Congratulations, you two. You are such a cool couple." Seth Green also chimed in, "Congrats @JordanPeele & @chelseaperetti."
Even Chelsea Peretti's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" co-star Melissa Fumero tweeted: "So happy my doggie nephew's parents are finally adding legal paperwork to their love affair. Congrats @JordanPeele & @chelseaperetti!!"
Peretti even replied to the tweet with an adorable photo of said "doggie," take a look here.
The official Brooklyn Nine-Nine Twitter account also offered their congratulations, to which Peretti hilariously replied, "THANK U TELEVISION SHOW TWITTER ACCOUNT!"
