Turn Food Waste Into A Homemade Organic Fuel

The environment is usually the one that suffers first since it is always the last thing that is on the mind of people whenever they think of progress, new technology and all sorts of business including the food industry. Speaking of food, it was pointed out by the United Nations Environment Program that there is a massive number of food wasted annually in countries like the United States.

To be exact, 220 million tons of food are wasted on a regular basis and statistics is definitely calling everyone's attention to do something about it. Luckily, an idea came through the brilliant minds of the people who are working on a project called 'HomeBigGas.' This means turning food scraps into biogas. This would help in reducing the countless trash that have been thrown into landfills, which consequently causes air pollution and an even bigger problem- global warming.

The procedure only takes three hours to build and it will help turn garbage into fuel. It is actually an Indiegogo project that is very promising for the environment. The product basically has a digester that is swarming with special bacteria that would help decompose those food scraps, according to Discovery.com. Once the bacteria decomposes those organic materials, methane gas will then be produced.

That gas could be connected to a person's house gas pipeline to produce fuel for everyday living. It is suggested that you hire a professional who could do the installation work for you.

Instead of throwing food that were not consumed and wasting them, might as well turn them into something useful for the house. You have helped save Mother Nature and you could also save on money for your gas.
