The former child star of one of the '90s most famous thrillers, M. Night Shyamalan's 'Sixth Sense', will be playing a Nazi in Kevin Smith's newest film project. The movie, which is called 'Yoga Hosers' and is currently being filmed in downtown Los Angeles, will star Smith's daughter Harley Quinn (that's right, named after the Joker's girlfriend in the Batman comics), Johnny Depp's daughter Lily-Rose as well as Captain Jack Sparrow himself.
In it, Osment will have a supporting role as a Holocaust-glorifying Nazi in the strangest of places: Manitoba, Canada. The Internet Movie Database's (IMDb) page for the film describes it as being a story where "two teenage yoga enthusiasts team up with a legendary man-hunter to battle with an ancient evil presence that is threatening their major party plans." The girls would be the famous men's daughters (who in the movie work in a convenience store, a concept familiar to Smith after his 'Clerks' films), the man-hunter would be played by Depp and the "ancient evil presence" might just as well be Osment's turn as a Nazi.
Haley Joel Osment saw success early in his career. As a child star, Osment was in 'Forrest Gump' (as Tom Hanks' son with Robin Wright) before making it big playing the kid with the ability to "see dead people" in 1999's 'The Sixth Sense', for which he got an Academy Award nomination as a Best Supporting Actor. He later starred in Steven Spielberg's 'A.I. Artificial Intelligence' and 'Pay it Forward', alongside Oscar winners Helen Hunt and Kevin Spacey.
Osment later retreated to continue his education and spent years off the Hollywood radar, focusing on voice acting. In 2013, he saw the light again in the entertainment scene by playing a reporter in the miniseries 'The Spoils of Babylon', produced by popular comedy actor Will Ferrell.
Next year, fans can expect Osment to seesaying witty comebacks, as is the general rule in Kevin Smith's films.
