In Halifax, Nova Scotia, the "coats on a pole" movement is already a trending topic. It was supposedly an anonymous act that apparently became an instant talk of the town, especially when the woman who initiated it was revealed through social media.

There were two coats left tied on lamp posts along the streets of the said Canadian city. Together with these coats, it comes with a note which simply tells whoever sees them and especially when he's stuck in the cold and have nowhere to go, to just grab one to keep him warm.

Tara Smith-Atkins, a woman from Caledonia, with her five friends and seven kids tied these 35 coats to various lamp posts. One of her kids was quoted to have said that she is currently teaching lessons of life as to how blessed she was and that it is a responsibility being blessed to help those who were less fortunate.

A lot of praises has already been given to Smith-Atkins, but she is still having a mixed emotions with the kind of attention that her act has garnered, which was supposedly intended for everyone but in an anonymous way.

According to her, she feels happy being able to inspire everyone across the world. However, a part of her is also disappointed since it wasn't meant to attract a lot of people especially the media.

Furthermore, as Smith-Atkins recalls their previous experiences, with her being pregnant and her husband being unable to work due to a car accident, it was a tough time for their family which actually had became a turning point for them to give back whenever she can.
