Justin Bieber's Album 'Purpose' Breaks the Longstanding Record of Beatles for Billboard Hot 100 Chart

Justin Bieber's Album 'Purpose' Breaks the Longstanding Record of Beatles for Billboard Hot 100 Chart

Justin Bieber has solidified his comeback this week by breaking the longstanding record for most songs in the Billboard Top 100, previously held by The Beatles.

Higher ups at CBS, the network airing both the 'Late Show' and the parade, couldn't have been too excited to see photo evidence that their high profile guest may have been playing hooky.

Justin Bieber has been talking a lot about his Christian faith and saying he is changing the way he lives. Aside from Bieber's three tracks in the top 10, Drake's 'Hotline Bling' is at number three, the Weekend's former number one, 'The Hills', is at number six and Shawn Mendes's 'Stitches' slips out of the top five to number seven.

In the midst of his promo run for his latest chart topper 'Purpose', the often embattled singer has pulled out of not one but two major appearances at the 11th hour. More people seemed to be curious of how One Direction would rebound considering the exit heard around the world.

First week after its release, Bieber's 'Purpose' sold over 649,000 total copies while 1Direction's 'Made in the A.M.' album sold 459,000 copies, according to Rolling Stone.

Even better news for The Biebs: not only has goal become his sixth number-one album to date, but it is also reportedly selling twice the amount it was projected to, reports Forbes.

Bieber had 17 songs show up on the December 5th Hot 100, making him the singer with the most titles ever to appear on the chart in one week.

The Fab Four may have been outlived by their chart record - but it took a 21-year-old Canadian to break it.

Singer Justin Bieber performs onstage during the 2015 American Music Awards at Microsoft Theater on November 22, 2015 in Los Angeles, California. Logic's The Incredible True Story came in at #3 with 135,000 units (118,000 in album sales) and Jeezy started at #4 with his LP Church In These Streets (107,000 EAUs and 98,000 in album sales).
