Dairy Queen Breach - only a few days ago did this big company have problems with their data as it was hacked. They said at the moment that they would take it seriously to protect their costumers and today, they have.
It was on Tuesday 26th that Dairy Queen suffered the breach and the U.S. Secret Service informed them about it. Dairy Queen at the moment spoke up and took responsibility of the fact by saying that they would take all the necessary measures to protect their clients and this not create further problems.
Now, when they said it, they meant it. To fight the Data Breach, Dairy Queen made a massive change in many of their stores. They went to only receiving cash. Credit cards will not be accepted in several parts of the country, to preserve the information and not take any risks.
Still, they did clear something else up, by saying "For the store, fifty per cent is done through credit cards, so changing to cash might be a difficulty." This was shared by Jon Fors, the store operator.
It is true that half not only of their business but of most business is done half and half between credit cards and cash, so only accepting cash is also receiving half of the money as surely many clients will not find this as a convenient decision and most likely, not the best result.
But another truth is that the Dairy Queen Breach took a toll on the entire country as many people eat there and they had to find a quick solution that would stop the information from spreading. It is the oldest way to just receive physical money, but it is also the only known secure solution at the moment.
The Dairy Queen Breach is also being controlled by using antivirus, anti-malware and firewalls of different kinds, Jon has shared as well. They are doing the best they can to assure security, so the changes will need to adjust.
