It's not easy escaping from a closed up place, but these kids did it, and not just one or two. Thirty-two teenagers ran away from a Youth Detention Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
The whole event unfolded yesterday, Monday 1st of September. According to Rob Johnson from the Tennessee Department of Child Services, "Staffing is lighter during the overnight hours," so that would determine a perfect timing for these kids to leave the facility at that time.
They did it all at once; the thirty-two left together and got to come out successfully. This quantity helped them, as the more they are, even if there is staff coming after them, they have a better change of leaving. If they stop one or two, maybe even more they still won't get the whole bunch as they were in total a lot more than the Staff chasing them could handle. The Staff was made of sixteen people at the time, so the teenagers were in a ratio of two against one.
From what has been said by the News, two of the kids were found and stopped immediately, others searched for overnight. Still, there are at least ten of them who are on the loose.
The ones that are missing have committed several felonies, so it is not absolutely safe and they need to be found fast.
The facts are these: they were thirty-two and escaped at approximately 11 p.m. after the 10.30 p.m. shift, where there is a change of Staff. They were looked for and about twenty-four of them were brought back to the Woodland Hills Youth Development Center in Bordeaux.
The ones who escaped were all boys ranging from the ages of fourteen to eighteen years old.
In total, there were about seventy-eight kids inside the facility before the escape.
The Police will continue searching for the eight to ten missing teenagers.
