After the 2013 tragedy following the death of Fast & Furious actor Paul Walker, his father had begun a legal action against Porsche.
Porsche is the car manufacturer of the Carrera GT that claimed Paul's life two years ago. The action comes after Porsche declared that the actor's death was his "own comparative fault" as a response to a wrongful-death lawsuit filed by Meadow Rain, Mr Walker's daughter.
Mirror.com reported, Paul Walker's father claimed that Porsche's Carrera GT lacked safety features that could have possibly saved his son's life. These saftey feaures would include door reinforcements, a stability-controlled system and a breakaway fuel line that would perhaps stop the car from exploding after the crash.
Porsche defended against the earlier lawsuit in their seven-page defence that the actor was conscious of the "risk, perils and danger" implicated while driving a car. It also dispute about the design of the car saying, "the subject 2005 Carrera GT was abused and altered" and added that it was "misused and improperly maintained."
"If Porsche had designed the car to include proper safety features, Paul would have survived, he would be filming Fast and Furious 8, and Meadow Walker would have the father she adored," Jeff Milam, Meadow Walker's attorney wrote in a statement.
Unspecified damages were sought by the court case.
Paul was a passenger of his friend Roger Rodas using the Carrera when it collided into a pole then burst into flame in Santa Clarita, California in November, 2013. Kristine, the widow of Rodas also filed claims of a wrongful death against Porsche in federal court.
None of the said cases has been set for court trial.
The Coroners disregarded drugs or alcohol as contributing factors of the accident while investigators have found out that the speed driving by Rodas between 80 to 93mph has caused the crash.
