Girl Fights Rare Case of Breast Cancer At Age 8

This is another burden that adds up to the battle of several health organizations against cancer.

Just in, reports say that an eight-year old girl, who lives in the United States has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is reportedly one of the youngest people to be detected with the killer disease after she developed a rare type of the disease.

The young girl named Chrissy Turner lives with her family in Centerville, Utah situated near the Salt Lake City. She first discovered a lump in her chest a month before she visited her doctor and was later found out to have a rare type of cancer that the doctor termed as secretory carcinoma.

While Chrissy didn't deny that she was afraid after hearing the news, the brave girl has remained strong amidst her battle against cancer.

"I was scared to figure out what it was. But I knew I could fight it off and I hope that I can fight it off." she said in a statement during her interview with the ABC TV.

Annette Turner, Chrissy's mother, broke down in tears while opening up that their family was really devastated about the unfortunate news, adding that she was really shocked about the diagnosis.

"No child should have to go through cancer." she explained.

As the mother went on to explain details about the rare disease, she continued, "Only one in one million are diagnosed and she is the youngest that they've run across having this particular type of breast cancer."

Following the unfortunate news, the friends of the Turner have already started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for Chrissy's medications.

"We are going to fight this as a family. We are going to be there for Chrissy no matter what." She said.

Reports say that breast cancers among young children are very unusual. In fact, there were less than five girls below the age of 10 were reportedly diagnosed with breast cancer every year from 2010 to 2012 in the UK, as confirmed by the Cancer Research UK.
