There's no doubt that both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One are still going strong for several years now, since its first release.
Even though they're still making whopping sales, the next generation of gaming consoles for both Sony and Microsoft are already underway.
In fact, the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Two are arriving sooner than expected. Although they're arriving before the decade ends, video game analysts are convinced that the new consoles are slated to arrive sooner than its predecessors.
According to ValueWalk:
"Previous PlayStation and Xbox consoles have existed in the mainstream for around seven years, with the overall cycle of a machine roughly lasting for a decade. But it is believed that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two could go on sale sooner than anticipated for several reasons. Above all else, both consoles will look out of date in technology terms by 2020, and both Sony and Microsoft are expected to announce concrete plans about their replacements before then."
Not only that, but the latest reports on the two bestselling console systems say that AMD is planning on giving a huge boost - five times the performance for both consoles, as reported by Geek.
Apparently, the performance boost is necessary since the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two are working on 4K resolution gaming.
And since the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One aren't capable of providing that high of a resolution, many have been led to believe that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Two could see its unveiling by 2018.
In addition, new chipsets are expected on the new gaming consoles, and the performance boost required points to the focus on virtual reality, which is definitely now becoming the future of technology.
Probably the best news for the gamers out there is that AMD will also offer backwards compatibility. This means that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One games can still work on the new consoles.
