Elisabeth Hasselbeck To Leave Fox & Friends

Television figure Elisabeth Hasselbeck is saying goodbye to the morning news program "Fox & Friends", where she has been a co-host alongside Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade for more than two years, according to reports.

The 38-year old talk show host will be exiting from the show later this year, adding that the reason behind her decision to leave is because she wants to focus more on raising her three children Grace, 10, Taylor Thomas, 8, and Isaiah Timothy, 6.

Reports say that a selection of rotating co-hosts will be made to fill in a temporary replacement for Hasselbeck until a permanent co-host is named.

"Oftentimes, the most difficult decisions are between two great things," Hasselbeck said. "With a heart full of gratitude and the peace that God has given me."

She went on saying, "I am confident that this personal decision is the right one for our family, and we will be joining all of you watching Fox & Friends each morning as we get ready for school together."

Roger Ailes, Fox News Chairman and CEO, has issued a statement following Hasselbeck's announcement to leave the show, saying "Elisabeth and I discussed this at length over several weeks, and while I would love for her to continue here, I respect her incredibly difficult, yet deeply personal decision. She has been a great addition to the Fox & Friends franchise."

Following the news, few speculations have circulated claiming that Hasselbeck was offered another contract with the Fox news and was allegedly begged to stay with the show.

However, a source was quick to shut down the rumors and insisted that there was no offered contract and "there certainly was no begging."

Before joining Fox & Friends, Elisabeth Hasselbeck was part of the ABC's 'The View' for 10 years before she stepped out in July 2013.

"I've done my time. I did my time, I was outta there," Hasselbeck said. "That time is passed, I was thankful to have the decade that I did there."
