Justin Bieber Wore a Nirvana Shirt to the 2015 AMAs, Twitter Declares the Band's Legacy Ruined Forever

Justin Bieber re-converted non-Beliebers worldwide thanks to his new number one album "Purpose" winning "Collaboration of the Year" and closing the night with a bang at the 2015 American Music Awards in Los Angeles Sunday night.

Despite a promising new start, the 21-year-old hitmaker couldn't take a break as he took some backlash over his outfit choice at the big event.

Justin is under fire after wearing a Nirvana shirt to the 2015 AMAs. The “What Do You Mean?” singer paired the filthy tee with shred jeans and white sneakers. Fans of the rock group Nirvana quickly took notice and slammed him on Twitter.

Many were upset because Justin was born in 1994 and never truly lived through the grime era.
Bieber was born in March 1994 — just a month before Kurt Cobain's death — but it's totally possible that he's managed to get his hands on and enjoy the band's sound recordings sometime in the last 21 years.

Still, people are not pleased. Some are even mad at Bieber for rocking the tee, because apparently it's unbelievable that a young person could be a fan of one of the most popular bands that has ever existed.

Fans immediately began to say that Nirvana’s lead singer, the late Kurt Cobain, would be rolling over in his grave if he saw Justin wearing a Nirvana shirt.

One person who was not offended however by the outfit was Cobain's widow Courtney Love, who called Bieber "cool."

Nirvana originated in 1987 and most remarkably included the late Kurt Cobain, as well as Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear. Some of their greatest hits include “Smells Like Teen Spirit” - received many critical applause and lead single from the band's second album, and “All Apologies," - as the band's third number one Modern Rock hit and reached number 32 on the UK Singles Chart.

Justin finished by changing out of his shirt and putting on a hat and sweatshirt for his epic performance which closed out the show. He performed under a waterfall and got completely drowned.
