The time has finally come for the Impossible Girl to say goodbye to Twelve and her many fans, but is Clara Oswald truly gone for good?
It was previously confirmed that Jenna Coleman is officially leaving 'Doctor Who' to take on the lead role in an upcoming TV show about Queen Victoria. Since then, fans have been watching the ninth series warily, waiting in suspense for the Doctor's Companion to finally take her leave.
In 'Face the Raven,' Clara Oswald decides to save their old friend Rigsy by taking the chronolock clock from him without the Twelfth Doctor's knowledge. Unfortunately, once the quantum shade has been transferred to her, it is revealed by Ashildr/Me that it can no longer be removed and that Clara has to die. Before she met her demise, Clara orders Twelve not to take revenge for her death and she dies after the shade leaves her body in the shape of a raven.
Although it has been general knowledge that Jenna Coleman will not be returning to 'Doctor Who,' there are still a few fans who believe that the world hasn't seen the last of Clara Oswald. After all, the character (or several incarnations of her) has died several times before she became the Eleventh Doctor's companion. TVLine also reports that Jenna Coleman has been spotted in set photos wearing in a new costume that has not yet been seen in any of the previous 'Doctor Who' episodes.
So is Clara Oswald coming back as the Twelfth Doctor's companion?
Most fans believe that Jenna Coleman may have been shooting scenes for the next episodes of 'Doctor Who,' where Twelve could be seeing Clara in a flashback. After all, his companion's untimely demise was unexpected for the Doctor, although audiences already saw it coming several months ago.
'Heaven Sent,' the eleventh episode of 'Doctor Who' Series Nine, will air on November 28.
