After the recent American Music Awards, singers Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth performed their hit song "Marvin Gaye." The highlight of their performance was when they kissed for a long time by the end of the song. Lots of people were left wondering if that was just part of the show or is it real and that the two of them are actually dating.
After that long kiss, many have speculated that it couldn't be an act, as it looked so real. Many also wanted it to be true, hoping the two are really dating. But here's the thing, the music video for their song involved some kissing as well. That said, there is a huge chance that they just reenacted their video in real life. Trainor said that it was an awkward kind of kiss when they did it on the video since there were a lot of eyes involved while they were doing it.
Earlier this year, MTV asked her about her experience on filming the video and she said, "Everyone was cheering because I was so good at it, and we went back to the green room and I was like, 'What's up Mom and Dad?' So awkward." But clearly, it looked like she got used to it because the AMAs was filled with lots of people watching inside the venue and the kiss lasted for about 10 seconds and more.
And as for those who wanted that kiss to be true, unfortunately, none of them are saying anything about it. But as of today, the representives of both parties said that they are just friends and are not in a romantic relationship. Those are the words from a rep delivered to Entertainment Weekly. That's the only confirmation fans could get as of now.
