Most people crave chocolate simply because it is good. Its aroma is wonderful. Experts have already identified that chocolate is good for the heart, blood circulation and brain. It has been suggested also that it is helpful in major health problems such as heart disease, Alzheimer's disease and even diabetes.
But eating chocolate for a living might just seems like a dream job for a cocoa-lover.
As per Mirror Online, a Scottish chocolate factory is opening a job opportunity for chief taster at its new factory, which is considered to be the "the sweetest job in the world".
Mackie's of Scotland is known for producing chocolates from top-quality ingredients designed to give chocolate lovers a unique taste sensation. This is the very reason why the company is advertising a career opening for chocolate taster, which is a position to be held for a year.
The only qualification required for the post is having exceptional "taste buds". The lucky candidates will be responsible in formulating a new flavor combination which will be made into the finest chocolate bar when the company opens its new £600,000 factory in Aberdeenshire next spring.
The Chief Chocolate Taster will be involved in general tasting panels, tasting other chocolate brands and guaranteeing quality control. However, they will be paid not by cash but by getting a monthly salary of Mackie's chocolate.
According to Mackie's, the successful applicant can have "a steady supply of chocolate to taste, test, lick and sook on the couch at home."
Kirstin McNutt, head of development, said: "Mackie's is committed to everyday indulgence, offering delicious treats including ice-cream, thick-cut crisps and, of course, chocolate."
Scottish mint, honeycomb, dark and milk are the current flavors produced by Mackie's.
"With our brand new factory being capable of making more than five million bars annually, we want to share the sweet success with creative candidates who have a taste for bringing us new interesting flavors," McNutt added.
Candidates will be required to explain what would be their dream flavored chocolate bar and the reason they're the ideal option to be considered for the position. The job posting is open until December 3, 2015. Interested applicants may apply by clicking here.
