Gordon Ramsay reportedly wants to demolish his new £4.4 million West Country home, which is situated in the area of Kensington-on-Sea and replace it with a new house that is made from scratch.
The celebrity chef who is behind Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and MasterChef bought a property in the seaside village of Rock, Cornwall back in June this year. The closed deal was said to be the priciest deal of the year in Cornwall and is said to be a notable deal, for the area is popular to wealthy investors.
However, despite the fact that the purchase was one of the most expensive sales ever recorded in Cornwall, the 49 year old restaurateur appears not to be satisfied with the layout of the house as he reportedly plans to knock it down to the ground and replace it with a new house.
The temperamental chef has already submitted a pre- application to Cornwall council to bulldoze the 1920s property, which is set in 1.3 acres. According to BBC, Ramsay is planning to replace it with a luxurious villa that will have five bedroom in it and a three bedroom boathouse. He wants the new property to boast of a wine cellar, vast open living area, entertainment room and a study room. He also wants the rooms to be spacious for his four children- 17 year old Megan, the15 year old twins, Jack and Holly and 13 year old Matilda.
He also wants the new constructed house to be completed with two updated kitchen. One is intended as a food preparation area, while the other will be ideal for cooking. He also wants to build a gym within the house and a large swimming pool outside.
Local councilor Carol Mould confirmed to Daily Mail, Ramsay's plan and said "We will consider his plans in due course."
