Volvo Reveals"Time Machine" Seat

Volvo shows up with what it calls the "Time Machine"- a dashboard, a steering wheel and a seat in the 2015 Los Angeles International auto show, where leaders in the automotive industry show off their latest advancements.

The driver seat is a combination of comfort and reliability where the living room experience meets jet fighter cockpit. It automatically slides in and out, and extends in moments of relaxing, this is when autonomous driving is made possible.

The steering wheel is composed of controls that act on the cars interior components. It automatically leans forward and backwards to fit your desired seat-to-steering wheel distance.

The dashboard can turn into an interactive touch screen LCD built in computer, that propels a person to do what needs to be done within the day, may it be on research or to stay connected and more.

The Time Machine also known as, the "C26 Sculpture", is a state of the art interior automotive component, that exceeds any of today's modern car seat. Volvo's Ideas towards a modern day car seat is ground breaking and may also pave a way for a new branch in this automotive industry.

Volvo's vision to have autonomous driving proves promising in the near future with C26. Volvo says that its name, "Time Machine", is not derived from it being able to travel to the future and back in time, but because it can expand your focus on something else when autonomous driving becomes a reality.

This project is the result of a 6000-person survey on what they want a future car to be. The accumulation answers to these surveys are self-explanatory of the C26 Sculpture, where it has key features for drive, to create and relax.

"Our research clearly shows that some people will want to use their commuting time creatively when they have full autonomous drive available," says Robin Page, vice-president of interior design at Volvo.
