Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg are engaged. ABC News reported that McCarthy shared the news with her fans on Wednesday while on her show "The View."
"I just got engaged!" the 41-year-old gushed to her co-stars, while showing off her giant yellow sapphire engagement ring she had been hiding under the desk until that moment. McCarthy, who cried as she shared the news, explained that Wahlberg enlisted the help of McCarthy's son, Evan, for the proposal.
She explained, "This weekend I was sitting with Donnie and he went into the other room and out came Evan with a card that said 'Will.' And he ran away and came back with a card that said 'You,' and I knew what was happening and I just started crying. And then he came out with a card that said 'Marry,' but it was spelled 'Mary,' and the last time Donnie came out with Evan and Evan's shirt said 'Me?' and he was holding the ring. He asked, 'Will you marry me?' I of course said yes. And in that moment, Evan yelled, 'I have another dad! I have another dad.' And it was just--it made all of us cry. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. He's so wonderful."
The "Blue Blood" actor came out on the set to give his wife-to-be a kiss. McCarthy told Barbara Walters that they have not set a wedding date but are considering an August 2015 wedding. Barbara Walters then offered up her New York City apartment as a possible wedding venue, if the ceremony happens in September.
McCarthy and Wahlberg began dating after he appeared on her now-canceled VH1 talk show last year. McCarthy hinted about her big news on "Good morning my friends. Have a kick ass Wednesday. Between us... I would watch #theview today. Just Sayn. Xxoo."
This will be the second marriage for both stars. McCarthy was previously married to actor and director John Mallory Asher, who is also Evan's father. Wahlberg was married t Kim Fey and the former couple share two children, Xavier Alexander Wahlberg and Elijah Hendrix Walberg.
