Massachusetts Pastafarian Gains Right to Wear Pasta Strainer in Driver’s License Photo

Anyone may come up with a disagreement with any religion that may appear quite weird to those not involved with it, but majority of the religions across the world observe a unique pattern in terms of practices and beliefs. The world nevertheless is a great, bizarre and distinct place.

On a report posted in The Daily Meal, a woman who is a member of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is permitted to put on a pasta strainer on her head in her driver's license photo on account of her religious beliefs.

Lindsay Miller from Lowell, Massachusetts claims putting a colander helps her to voice her ideals, just like any other religions are able to do. To wear a colander is an identification of being a Pastafarian.

The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles does not likely approve head coverings or hats to be used in driver's license photos with the exception of religion-based reasons.

Miller filed an administrative appeal and anticipated to participate in a court hearing in October regarding her driver's permit picture. The legal center of the American Humanist Association represented Miller in the court. The court hearing was put off, and the Massachusetts RMV has allowed Miller to have her picture taken with a colander.

According to Miller, as an associate of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, she came to feel very pleased that her Pastafarianism has now been highly regarded by the Massachusetts RMV.

Considering that the federal government could have nothing to do the in aspects of religion, Miller is hopeful that this decision would inspire other Pastafarian Atheists to show up and voice out themselves as she did.
