Singer-songwriter Carly Simon has revealed she had sexual encounters when she was 7, according to reports.
During her recent interview with People, Clarkson opened up about being sexually involved with a family friend at a very young age, adding that at the time, the boy she was having sexual contact with was a teenager.
"It was heinous. It changed my view about sex for a long time." she said.
The 70-year old singer also revealed that her siblings knew everything that was happening during the time, adding that despite telling the truth, they still didn't believe her.
Simon also revealed that the only time her sisters realized that she had been telling the truth the whole time was when she showed them an advanced copy of her new memoir, "Boys in the Trees".
"Neither of them were all aware of what had happened to me." she said. "I told them the first year that it was happening, and they thought I was just trying to be one of the bigger girls."
As the interview went on, Simon revealed that she was "in a romance" with the teenage boy at the time and added that in order for them to "keep it going", she wanted to make their relationship a secret.
While Simon didn't deny how much she had believed she was in a romantic relationship, she later realized that what was happening was an abuse. And the boy, who was more aware of what he was doing could have been charged with sexual abuse.
After the information reached to her mother, her partner was banned from visiting their home one summer and Simon admitted that she really felt devastated as she believed what they had was romantically real.
She added, "Which I think happens to a lot of girls. Your libido overpowers everything! You're so libidinous even at the age of 9 and 10. And sometimes there's an outlet there. I bet in many more cases than we know about there is."
