Kelly Clarkson Releases 'Piece by Piece' Music Video

She has just added her latest material for the year and it appears like it is more than a just a song for her.

Singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson, who had also debuted two other tracks this year, has dropped the official music video for her latest single "Piece by Piece" on Thursday, November 19, according to reports.

"Piece by Piece", which is among the songs included on the track list of her seventh studio album, happens to be a follow-up release to the singles "Invincible" and "Heartbeat Song".

During her interview with the Glamour to promote her latest album, Clarkson didn't miss out sharing about how the new single "Piece by Piece" turned out to be something more sentimental for the singer, adding that the music is inspired by her father, who left their family when she was young and her husband, who is the exact opposite.

"I had my daughter and even from holding her the first day, I was like, 'How could anyone walk away from that?' she said. "Then I started thinking that my husband is such a great father."

She continued, "He's not an audience guy, he is on stage doing the work with me. He changes diapers, he stays up, and if I've had a late night, he'll wake up with her in the morning. We're definite partners and I felt so lucky."

Besides gushing about her little family, Clarkson also revealed that she was distrusting men at the time decided to give it a try after meeting Blackstock.

"You find men who are all you knew, and I just feel so lucky. Maybe because I waited and worked through my 20s." she added. "It's a positive song, even though I know it sounds sad."

The soulful musician also admitted that though "Piece by Piece" wasn't actually difficult to write, it has been hard for her performing the song, saying "I have yet to get through it emotionally, I don't mean vocally. I haven't gone through it once. So that will prove to be interesting."

She went on to explain that the song is not even encouraging sad tears, instead it is a "beautiful thing" that helped her discover something about herself that she didn't know has existed.

"I'm just going to just have to deaden myself and not listen to the words that I'm singing." she said. "I'm an emotional singer anyway, so it's easy for me to get lost in any story that I'm the vessel for that moment."

The music video was shot in greyscale, showing Clarkson singing in front of the camera. Besides Clarskon, the heart touching video also puts a highlight on the mother and daughter relationship, and moving on with life even in the absense of the fathers.

Kelly Clarkson's daughter River Rose Blackstock appears smiling on the last part of the video, while exchanging a kiss with her mother.
