Victoria's Secret Model Bridget Malcolm Fights Back Against Skinny Shamers

Bridget Malcolm, a Victoria Secret model is addressing all of the body shamers who criticized her weight and physique. Bridget challenges these stereotypes by proving skinny can indeed equal strong and her Instagram account is a proof of her living an active lifestyle.

In an Instagram selfie she posted on Tuesday, showing her quite lean physique clad in just a sports bra and leggings, she wrote alongside it this message. "Can we STOP with the skinny shaming please? I am extremely fit and healthy and am not in the slightest anorexic. I have worked hard to look like this and am proud of my body."

Bridget also added: "I may not be the curviest but I am a woman who has every right to look the way I do. Maybe today take a look inside yourself and wonder why you feel the need to shame strangers over the Internet about their bodies."

Bridget's strong statement and Instagram photos clearly shows how, there is no single body type that defines what being fit is and that all shapes and sizes, regardless of one's weight or height, should be respected for their efforts.

It was actually about three days ago that the 23-year-old model came under fire, and this happened after she shared in an interview with Sydney Morning Herald the details of her preparations for the Victoria's Secret show that included a vegan diet and gym sessions. During the interview however, she gave a negative remarked about people not choosing to eat healthy. Her words to the publication:

'It blows my mind that people can be so blind to the impact that their dietary and lifestyle choices are having on the environment and on their own bodies.'At the rate of heart disease, cancer and diabetes, I don't understand how people can be OK - and even proud - of their bad eating habits when they are killing themselves slowly."

Bridget Malcolm, who will marry her musician boyfriend next year in an American wedding, stood for a selfie before a prompting fans hit their keyboards accusing her of being "anorexic" and a "mannequin."

Even model Gigi Hadid recently took to Instagram to stand up for herself against complaints that she doesn't fit the typical fashion model mold.
