'Hunger Games: Mockingjay 2' Opens Up 50 Percent Lower in Paris Amid Terror Fright

The opening day of the American epic science fiction war film - The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, was notably down at the French box office, the slow pace of the film was not only caused by the terror attacks that hit the capital city last Friday, but also by the action of the police that took place on Wednesday.

Reportedly, the opening day in Paris for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 was down 50 percent compared from Mockingjay  Part 1 a year ago, and 40 percent came from across the country.

Across France, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 had 150,000 admissions on Wednesday, including Tuesday night previews around 205,000. While Paris and its suburbs - the movie had 26,000 admissions.

However, elsewhere in Europe, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 is pacing well ahead of the previous flick in early business. As Germany's previews are up 42 percent atop Mockingjay 1 - which advanced ticket sales are ahead of the The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 in the United Kingdom.

It has been said that the film will open in 87 international markets this weekend, that includes China - making the film the widest release of the year to date. Mockingjay Part 2 also debuts in North America.

The general manager of Rentrak France - Eric Marti, regarded something as much of that loss to the movie's demographic.

Eric Marti stated, "A significant part of the audience of Mockingjay is 12 to 16 years old - boys, but mostly girls - and with the events taking place all day yesterday, they have probably been told to stay home." "They're completely missing from the numbers."

In addition, on Wednesday, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 had a 30 percent market share, however,Spectre recovered significantly and L'Hermine (French film) opened well.
