On Wednesday, November 18, actor, producer Michael Douglas and his wife actress Catherine Zeta-Jones celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary, the Welsh actress couldn't resist sharing a charming photo of the couple in celebration of the special day.
“Happy Anniversary dearest Michael!” she captioned a precious black-and-white photo of the couple. Catherine shared that she loves their life together and cheers for 15 more years to come.
In the image, which Catherine Zeta-Jones posted on Instagram, the 71-year-old actor and Zeta-Jones, were holding each other in a tight embrace as Michael kisses Catherine on her forehead.
Michael had said that he loves Catherine more than he ever has, revealing that the couple actually had to work things out for the relationship to last that long. "If both people want to work something out and make it better, you can do it. You can’t do it if it’s just one person,” he shared.
The couple married on November 18, 2000 and they actually share the same birthday as both were born on September 25.
They have two children, son Dylan Michael, 15-years-old and daughter Carys Zeta, 12-years-old.
In August 2013, People claimed that Douglas and Zeta-Jones began living separately in May 2013, but had not taken any legal action towards separation or divorce.
In August 2010, it was in the news that Michael Douglas was suffering from throat cancer (later revealed to have actually been tongue cancer), and had to undergo five months of chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Douglas subsequently confirmed that the cancer was at stage IV, the most advanced stage.
In 2015, Douglas was selected as the recipient of the Genesis Prize, a $1 million prize, awarded by the Genesis Prize Foundation.
The actor plans to donate the prize money to activities designed to raise awareness about inclusion and diversity in Jewish life, and to finding innovative solutions to pressing global and community problems.
In April 2011, Zeta-Jones sought treatment for Bipolar II disorder, checking herself into Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut.
The 46-year-old, checked into a health care facility again in April 2013 for further treatment related to her Bipolar disorder.
