Dave Grohl Muppets: Nirvana Star Going On Drum-Off Against Animal After Foo Fighters’ Canceled European Tour [VIDEO]

Dave Grohl, arguably the coolest person in the music industry or at least pretty high up the list, has just challenged one of the world's most iconic drummers in the world, both human and puppet, as the next Dave Grohl "Muppets" appearance will include a drum-off with Animal!

In an upcoming episode of "The Muppets" that will also feature actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, two of the most iconic drummers in the globe will be facing each other in the battle of the rocking chopsticks, as the former Nirvana drummer takes Dave Grohl's "Muppets" appearance to challenge the drum-mad puppet.

According to Variety, Dave Grohl's "Muppets" appearance will see the Foo Fighters frontman reaching the puppet-filled studios on December 1 in an episode entitled "Going, Going, Gonzo" alongside Levitt, as Gonzo prepares to "perform his dream stunt" and Grohl takes on after a long rival.

Of course, this isn't the first Dave Grohl "Muppets" appearance; a couple of years back, Loud Wire reported that the star went back to his Nirvana roots for the 2011 sequel to the old films, playing the part of "Animool," a fake version of Animal, when the Muppets rip-offs, The Moopets, played in a super depressing bar.

According to Entertainment Weekly, besides Dave Grohl's "Muppets" history, Levitt himself has his own background with Jim Henson's puppets, as he'll be producing and starring in the upcoming "Fraggle Rock," a project that sees the actor collaborating with Henson's daughter, Lisa, who will also produce the work as they both create something that the puppeteer star would have been proud of.

The new version of "The Muppets" has been as star-studded as tradition dictates, having welcomed the likes of Elizabeth Banks, Jay Leno and Reese Witherspoon in the past few weeks, as drama unfolds between former puppet couple Kermit and Miss Piggy.
