Corinne Foxx, Jamie Foxx's daughter, is Miss Golden Globe 2016 according to Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Corrine, a student at the University of Southern California is very familiar with award shows, escorting her dad on red carpets from the time when she was a little girl.
"I've known for about 3 weeks. Maybe like a month and I was so excited," the model-actress said to PEOPLE. "I had all of this energy and I'm not lying, for an hour straight, just jumped around my house and was bouncing off the walls, and was Googling all of this stuff about Miss Golden Globes so I was really excited."
She said her Golden Globe Award-winning father's reaction was priceless. "My dad, he's a little bit emotional. He won't admit it, but he had tears in his eyes and he was so happy for me to kind of have my own thing now," she added.
It has been a tradition that the annual title should be given to the daughter or son of a superstar, and they are responsible of assisting their child in handing out the awards during the big night.
Lorenzo Soria, president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association describes Corrine as same as her father that sets a 'fine example of following dreams' and everyone can't wait to see what will she do next.
"Throughout the years I've grown up watching my dad establish himself as a well-respected actor," Miss Golden Globe 2016 said throughout a gathering hosted by the HFPA. "I'm honored that HFPA has given me the opportunity to now share the same stage where he's been recognized for some of his greatest accomplishments."
Foxx will be on stage together with Hollywood's A-listers - including Denzel Washington who received this year's Cecil B. DeMile Award - throughout the airing of 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards on NBC on the 16th day of January, 2016 at 8p.m. ET.
