Shia LaBeouf has reportedly dropped out of the movie "Rock the Kasbah," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Last month, the "Transformers" actor joined the star-studded cast of a comedy being directed by Barry Levinson. Yet sources tell the Reporter that the actor has pulled out of the role. Sources also added that it was an "amicable parting."
The 27-year-old actor leaves behind a cast that includes Bill Murray, Danny McBride, Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel and Bruce Willis. The movie is currently in pre-production mode.
"Kasbah tells of a has-been rock manager who takes his last remaining client on a USO tour of Afghanistan," The Hollywood Reporter stated. "When he finds himself in Kabul, abandoned, penniless and without his passport, he discovers a young girl with an extraordinary voice and manages her through Afghanistan's version of American Idol, the wildly popular Afghan Star."
LaBeouf was set to play the part of a military duo, with McBride as his other half. Reasons behind his departure were not revealed.
His departure comes weeks after the actor declared he was retiring from public life. The actor sparked controversy with his odd behavior, including apologizing for plagiarism and walking out on a press conference for his film "Nymphomaniac".
He also sported a paper bag on his head with the words "I AM NOT FAMOUS ANYMORE". LaBeouf's next film will be "Fury," set to release in November.
