Kilgrave takes center stage in two new sneak peeks of the Netflix series 'Jessica Jones.'
The villain, who is played by David Tennant, is undoubtedly one of the most interesting and evil characters to ever be portrayed on TV. Kilgrave, who is also known as the Purple Man, can control other people's minds and has used his power to manipulate Jessica Jones in the past.
In the new 'Jessica Jones' trailer sneak peeks, Kilgrave's unusual and sinister powers are shown off in subtle but unnerving ways.
The first clip shows the Purple Man casually getting a man to invite him into their apartment and telling his wife that he will be their guest. The villain then stomps on the couple's son's car, making him complain, "That's my car." Kilgrave responds coldly, "Children should be seen and not heard. Or better still, not seen and not heard." He then orders the child to hide himself in the closet before making the couple serve him dinner. "Be warned," Kilgrave says as he cleans a knife, "I have a very particular palate."
The second clip shows the Purple Man playing poker and declaring that he is going all in. One of the players isn't taking his bluff and decides not to play, but Kilgrave berates him. "Where are your balls?" he asks, even getting the women watching the game to announce that all of the players have balls. "Go on then," he orders the player, who hesitates before going all in.
David Tennant is obviously enjoying his new role as a villain after playing the good guy Tenth Doctor in 'Doctor Who.' 'Jessica Jones' executive producer Melissa Rosenberg has even declared that the actor is "just swallowing his part whole."
'Jessica Jones' also stars Krysten Ritter and will be available for streaming on Netflix starting November 20.
