Home Alone Turns 25: Where Are Macaulay Culkin and His Co-Stars Now?

It has indeed been 25 years since the release of "Home Alone", so if you find your palms pressed to your cheeks while screaming into a mirror, it may not be the aftershave, but rather that very realization!

Home Alone was written and produced by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus. It was an American comedy released in 1990.

Macaulay Culkin stars as Kevin McCallister in the film, who initially relishes being home alone. He later had to contend with two would-be burglars played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern, who broke into their home.

Catherine O'Hara and John Heard played the part of Kevin's parents.

Up until 2011's, The Hangover: Part II, Home Alone was the highest-grossing live action comedy film of all time not only in the US but also worldwide.

Spawning a successful film franchise with four sequels, including the 1992 film, Lost in New York, which is  the only sequel to have the original cast reprising their roles. Home Alone's reviews was one of mixed to positive reviews from critics.

Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister:

(Then) an energetic 8-year-old boy who is the youngest son of the McCallister family. He can be obnoxious and annoying, but he is proven to be extremely clever and resourceful.

(Now) Culkin stated in a May 27, 2004, interview on Larry King Live that he tends to refrain from disclosing aspects of his personal life, though he discussed his life as a child actor, the conflict in his family life (including his estrangement from his father), and how he retired from acting at age 14.

In December 2013, a viral video of Culkin eating a cheese pizza was uploaded to YouTube.

He was parodying Andy Warhol consuming a Burger King Whopper in Jørgen Leth's documentary 66 Scenes from America.

(Now) Pesci appeared with Don Rickles in a 2011 Snickers advertisement in which he portrays the alter-ego of a young man who attends a party and becomes agitated by two women.

In 2007 Pesci was engaged to Angie Everhart, but the couple broke up in 2008.

Daniel Stern as Marv:

(Then) the tall member of the Wet Bandits. The dimmer of the duo, he has a childlike enthusiasm for toys and likes to leave the water running to 'mark' the houses they have robbed.

(Now) Outside of acting and directing, Stern works as an artist, specializing in bronze sculpture.

He has created sculptures for public art projects in San Diego, Pasadena, Palm Desert, Temple City and Agoura Hills.

He has also done many private commissions, gallery exhibitions and art fairs.

In 2009, President Obama awarded him the United States' highest honor for volunteerism, the President's "Call to Service Award".

John Heard as Peter McCallister:

(Then) Kevin's father.

(Now) He starred or was featured in films including Awakenings, Cutter's Way, Chilly Scenes of Winter, Cat People, Deceived, Beaches (film), The Milagro Beanfield War, The Pelican Brief, and White Chicks, and the TV-movie Sharknado.

Catherine O'Hara as Kate McCallister:

(Then) Kevin's mother. Forgetting her son, who's home alone. And repeatedly shouting, "Kevin!"

(Now) Starring as Moira Rose on the Pop network comedy "Schitt's Creek," whose second season premieres early next year. As a February guest on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live," the Emmy Award winner also fondly recalled her semi-recent reunion with Culkin.

(Now) In 2000, Blossom appeared in the biography documentary Full Blossom: The Life of Poet/Actor Roberts Blossom, in which he talked about his life as an actor and poet.
