Rupert Grint And Ron Perlman Try To Get Stanley Kubrick To Fake The Moon Landing In The Red-Band 'Moonwalkers' Trailer [VIDEO]

There is an old theory that suggests that the moon landings in the late 60s were actually faked by none other than Stanley Kubrick. The government had allegedly asked the '2001: A Space Odyssey' director to fake the Apollo 11 for Richard Nixon, who felt like the technology during the time was not ready for the mission.

The new movie 'Moonwalkers' is all about the conspiracy theory, although it does take a more comedic turn, as seen in the red-band trailer.

The synopsis for the film reads as follows:

"After failing to locate the legendary Stanley Kubrick, an unstable CIA agent (Ron Perlman) must instead team up with a seedy rock band manager (Rupert Grint) to develop the biggest con of all time - staging the moon landing."

The trailer begins with Kidman being given the task to look for Stanley Kubrick to direct the moon landing hoax. However, he makes the mistake of telling Jonny about the money involved and is fooled by Jonny into thinking that Leon is actually the legendary director. With only a few days left, will Kidman, Jonny and Leon be able to find someone to fake the moon landing?

The red-band 'Moonwalkers' trailer features some nudity and a lot of violence, which suggests that things go exactly as planned for Ron Perlman and Rupert Grint. At one point, Kidman is given some acid for his headache and he claims that the drug will have no effect on him because he is CIA. However, his brain doesn't appear to be as strong as he expected.

'Moonwalkers' is directed by Antoine Bardou-Jacquet and produced by Georges Bermann. The film also stars 'Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' star Robert Sheehan as Leon, Kerry Shale as Mr. White, Eric Lampaert as Glen and Jay Benedict as Colonel Dickford.

'Moonwalkers' will premiere on January 15, 2016.
