Last year, Taylor Swift got into a famous feud with music streaming service Spotify after pulling her music out of the platform and refusing to release her "1989" album on it, claiming the company didn't fully compensate artists for their streaming rights - will Adele's Spotify stand be the same as that of her fellow singer-songwriter?
Adele's newest studio album, "25," is about to become available in just a few days' time, on November 20, and judging by the massive success of the first single, "Hello," it can be assumed the British star's new material will be welcomed with open arms - but will there be any Adele on Spotify?
According to The Verge, there have been growing rumors that there won't be an Adele Spotify presence on the 20th, the day the album's being released, as she follows the example of both Swift and Beyoncé - there's a chance the company won't be getting the big release unless they meet Adele's demands.
Bustle reports that, for now, it seems like Adele's Spotify presence the day of the album's release could only be available for the service's premium subscribers and not for those using it for free, as the Grammy is pushing the company to only launch it for paying subscribers - or nobody else at all.
"It is categorically untrue that anyone has asked us to feature Adele's new album on premium only," said the company through a statement, when asked about the possibility of Adele's Spotify absence in a few days' time.
Now, Spotify has denied claims that "25" won't be available for those users of the site that do not pay for a membership, so it's really unclear how much of this is rumor and how much is based on reality.
According to The Inquisitr, it appears as if "25" isn't contracted for streaming anywhere else, including Apple Music or Google Play - will it finally be on Adele's Spotify?
