Members of the hard-rock band Deftones attended the Eagles of Death Metal concert on Friday at the Le Bataclan concert hall in Paris on Friday night, even though they were initially scheduled to perform at the same theatre on Saturday night, November 14.
As it turns out, the Deftones band and crew members were a few of the lucky ones who were able to leave the event right before the attacks ensued.
Lead singer Chino Moreno - who wasn't at the Friday show, said in an interview with Sacramento's local CBS affiliate, that the band members were all safe:
"Yeah, we're safe. [...] We weren't scheduled to play at the Bataclan until tomorrow night. A couple of band members, they went to the concert, but they left early - after the first few songs they ended up leaving the venue. They got out of there and all of our band and crew are safe and accounted for at the hotel now. So, we are just here, we're pretty much on lockdown. They told everybody pretty much to stay indoors and don't go out, because they're still - everything is still unfolding as we speak."
French President Francois Hollande, since the terrorist attacks, has declared a state of emergency for the city. Not only that, but its borders have also been closed.
In addition, Fuse.tv reports:
"According to the L.A. Times, three members of the band and crew were attending the Eagles of Death Metal concert on Friday night, but left Bataclan 15 minutes before the terrorist attack began. Aaron Harris, who is drumming with the group, said that everything seemed normal at the show, but when he returned to his hotel after the concert, employees quickly brought him inside."
Billboard further reports that concert halls, movie theatres, museums, and all public areas have been closed until further notice, as said by Paris officials.
