Reports claimed that another girl hero will make its debut on the big screen in "Justice League: Part One," apart from Wonder Woman.
Heroic Hollywood shared that it got a hot tip from talent agency sources seeking background on a specific character.
"It seems like Wonder Woman won't be the only heroine featured in the ensemble film," the report said. "According to my guys, MERA the Queen of Atlantis will be making her cinematic debut in the film!"
Mera is Aquaman's wife. Comic Book Resources informed that she has also developed special powers and abilities while living underwater. The report noted that she is known to have the ability to "control water in mass quantities" aside from having super strength.
Heroic Hollywood even divulged that Mera was supposed to be premiered in the solo "Aquaman" film which is slated to hit theatres in 2018. However, the entertainment news outlet noted that the appearance of the Queen of Atlantis in "Justice League: Part One" is "logical." To date, no confirmation was made yet if Aquaman's better half will be one of the core cast of the Justice League team or will just have a minor role in the forthcoming movie.
Meanwhile, Cinema Blend stated that Jason Momoa - who is also famously known for his role as Khal Drogo in HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones" -- will play the character of Aquaman for his solo movie. Heroic Hollywood shared that the union of Aquaman and Mera will represent the unification of two feuding factions in Atlantis.
However, the Queen of Atlantis have been mind-controlled for countless times to turn against his husband. Mera and Aquaman will also have a son and the queen of the underwater city will be placed in a position to choose between her husband or son.
"Justice League: Part One" is set to hit cinemas on Nov. 17, 2017. "Aquaman," on the other hand, will be released a year after on July 27, 2018.
