‘Games of Thrones’ Producers Reveal They Know How the HBO Series Will End (VIDEO)

Want to know how the "Game of Thrones" series ends?

Author George R.R. Martin, whose "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series is the basis for the show, told Vanity Fair that the show is indeed catching up to what he has written and for fans. This, in particular, has become a big concern.

Martin has reportedly remained secretive about how the fantasy books will end, but show producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss managed to get a broad outline. Benioff said that his team met with Martin and "literally went through every character" in order to plan out the remainder of the series.

"Last year we went out to Santa Fe for a week to sit down with (Martin) and just talk through where things are going, because we don't know if we are going to catch up and where exactly that would be," Benioff told he magazine. "If you know the ending, then you can lay the groundwork for it. And so we want to know how everything ends. We want to be able to set things up."

However, Martin points out: "I can give them the broad strokes of what I intend to write, but the details aren't there yet. I'm hopeful that I cannot let them catch up with me."

Benioff reassured fans that no matter what happens, the popular series will continue to run. "Games of Thrones" producers would like the series to wrap after seven or eight seasons.

"I think the desire to milk more out of it is what would eventually kill it, if we gave in to that," Martin added, along with mentioning that President Barack Obama is one of the shows biggest fans and gets private screenings before airing on the HBO network.

Season four of "The Games of Thrones" will premiere April 6. Screenrant reported that it will primarily cover the events in book three of the series, "A Storm of Swords".
