According to The Huffington Post, Duff shared during the Fast Company Innovation Festival what struggles she encountered being a "slashie," a person who has careers in several fields. Duff said that the thought of maintaining an online image is exhausting to her. It is also because that she juggles acting, recording, and raising her three year old son at the same time.
Hilary Duff then said that one day will come she will have to choose between "Hilary Duff as an actress and Hilary Duff as a singer". She said that music now is a different game; a person should give his or her full time or no time at all. "There's a very small group that gets played on the radio, and it's hard to break through that," she said.
The actress/singer had her first movie when she was at the age of eleven in 1998. Shortly after, she released her first album in 2002 at the age of fifteen. She also has her own clothing line Stuff by Hilary Duff and Femme for DKNY Jeans.
