British boy band One Direction just came out with their new hit single "Perfect" and fans would be surprised to know that it is about Taylor Swift. Well, inspired by the pop singer to be exact.
The word on the street coming from one of the members of One Direction, Louis Tomlinson, is that their song Perfect was conceptualized from the former romantic intertwinement that happened between Taylor Swift and their other band member, Harry Styles.
Tomlinson shared this fact to People Magazine even when Styles was not comfortable revealing this little trivia about their song. But just to be safe and to also probably protect Styles, Tomlinson didn't spell out the name of Swift at first. But when the magazine asked if it was really about her, he finally said yes.
Before he made a confirmation about Perfect being inspired by Swift, Tomlinson gave out a clear explanation first about the song. He said, "I think everybody draws from personal experiences, so of course to a degree I'm sure that influenced some of it. Down to specifics to who that song is exactly about, that's fan's interpretation, I suppose."
And since Harry Styles is not someone who wants to have his personal stuff out in the public, he just concurred to Tomlinson about leaving it to fans regarding the interpretation of their song. He too was asked if it was about Swift, but he refused to give an answer.
Instead, his reply was, "I think people interpret songs in different ways. I'm never going to tell someone what a song's about because I feel like it's up to them."
Meanwhile over at Swift's camp, an insider of Hollywood Life said that she loves the new track the group has released.
