[WATCH] Extended R-Rated Battle Footage From 'The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies' [VIDEO]

There is no question that 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' was a lengthy film that ran 144 minutes. However, the 2 hour 24 minute running time of the original cut is nothing compared to the Extended Edition of the movie, which has an additional 20 minutes of battle sequences and other scenes.

Although it will still be a few more until the release of the R-Rated Extended Edition of 'The Battle of the Five Armies,' Youtube user Joshalots has shared some of the footage. The additional scenes include a longer exchange between Dain II Ironfoot (Billy Connolly) and King Thranduil (Lee Pace), Bombur (Stephen Hunter) taking control of a Troll and saving Thorin (Richard Armitage) and the gang from another rampaging Troll as well as the fate of gold-stealing Alfrid Lickspittle (Ryan Gage).

The video starts with the arrival of Dain II Ironfoot and immediately insulting the Elves and the Men. He even calls Thranduil a "pointy-eared princess," which angers the Elf. The fight begins with the Elves shooting their arrows at the Dwarves, who deflect the attack with an ingenious defense.

The battle is much bloodier than the original cut, and the sequences show more casualties than were previously allowed in the initial release. However, the Extended Edition of 'The Battle of the Five Armies' does explain what happened to Alfrid Lickspittle, who was left behind when the women decided to join the battle.

In the video, it turns out that Alfrid had hidden in one of the catapults in Dale. As Gandalf faces off with a Troll, the catapult is disturbed and the coward is thrown into the Troll's mouth. It may have been a distasteful death, but Alfrid somehow managed to save Gandalf just in time.

The Extended Edition of 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' is scheduled for release on November 17.
