The popular "Duffin" of Muffin Break has made a major comeback!
Australian Food News reported that "Duffin," which is a cross between a muffin and a donut, is now available in three flavors. However, it is only available for a limited time.
Muffin Break's Duffin flavors include custard cream, berry jam and chocolate hazelnut with cocoa and cinnamon sugar. It is baked on site daily and is available over 200 Muffin Break stores across Australia.
It is on sale now until Dec. 6, 2015. Muffin Break's Duffin boosted a sales increase of 80 percent when it was first introduced at the start of 2015.
Additionally, the chain said it will be releasing other flavors throughout 2016. Franchisees set retail prices and it may vary between stores.
Meanwhile, Muffin Break debuted two "lower carb" muffins to Australian consumers last month. It is said to have 70 percent less carbohydrates, 47 to 49 percent less kilojoules and 75 percent less sugar when compared to a standard muffin.
"Five years in research and development, the muffins come in 'Berry Nut and Seeds' and 'Macadamia, Mango and Passionfruit' flavours. Berry, Nuts and Seeds includes linseed, almonds, sunflower and sesame seeds along with goji berries, boysenberry, blackcurrant and apple compote," AFN reported at the time. "The Macadamia, Mango and Passionfruit muffin is tropical in flavour with peaches and coconut added in."
Muffin Break said that muffins are designed for the health conscious and those who are living with diabetes. As a matter of fact, Brand Manager John Macphail led the development of the range as someone who has lived with Type 1 Diabetes for almost 30 years.
"The chain already offers other muffins for those with health needs including gluten free, dairy free, bran, low fat and Weight Watchers endorsed," the report read. "Muffin Break lower carb muffins are available now Australia wide with a recommended retail price of $ 4.00 per muffin."
