It may be time to find out the truth about Supreme Leader Snoke, the most mysterious villain in the upcoming 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens.' Andy Serkis, who will be playing the character through performance capture, recently offered some details about the new Big Bad.
"Supreme Leader Snoke is quite an enigmatic character, and strangely vulnerable at the same time as being quite powerful," Serkis revealed to EW. "Obviously he has a huge agenda. He has suffered a lot of damage. As I said, there is a strange vulnerability to him, which belies his true agenda, I suppose."
However, this doesn't mean that Supreme Leader Snoke is a fragile little thing. Andy Serkis also admitted that it was impossible for him to play the villain in costume and make-up because of the character's size.
"He is large. He appears tall. And also just the facial design - you couldn't have gotten there with prosthetics. It's too extreme," Serkis said. "Without giving too much away at this point, he has a very distinctive, idiosyncratic bone structure and facial structure. You could never have done it [in real life.]"
Unfortunately, this is all the information that can be gathered from the 'War of the Planet of the Apes' actor, who admits that Supreme Leader Snoke's appearance has changed throughout the filming process. However, Andy Serkis was quick to confirm that the villain is not a character that has previously appeared in the 'Star Wars' films.
"He's a new character in this universe," he said. "It is very much a newly-introduced character. He's aware of what's gone on, in the respect that he has been around and is aware of prior events. I think it'd be fair to say that he is aware of the past to a great degree."
It was previously speculated that Supreme Leader Snoke is actually an older Jar Jar Binks, who was the subject of an elaborate fan theory.
'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' will premiere on December 18.
