Now, what do your lips want to tell you?
Lips can be reflections of one's health and the window to his entire body. If you are well hydrated, then your lips will be well-hydrated. And when you've got chapped or sore lips, it only shows that you need to increase your fluid intakes. Eating refreshing fruits and vegetables may be of great help, too.

According to Joshua Zeichner, director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, it's most likely a sign of sun damage. "Just as you can get a precancerous spot on other parts of your skin, you can get a precancerous spot on your lips," he shared. "Particularly older patients, or patients who are fair-skinned."
Be mindful that too much sun exposure can damage not just your lips but also your skin.
3. Cracked lips may indicate other conditions.
According to Zeichner, there are a variety of things that can cause changes in your lips, including its being scaly, dry and cracked. Conditions may range from allergies, vitamin deficiencies, and even Crohn's disease. He, therefore, reiterated the bottom line of this indication. "If you have a rough, scaly spot that's not improving with typical lip products, get it checked out," he explained.
Dealing with cracked lips can be really challenging as it involves pain and redness. Thus, peeling it off doesn't actually help but instead, worsen your condition. So in case you'd have dry and chapped lips, find time to check on your lifestyle, consider your diet, drink lots of water, moisturize your lips by putting some oil or your fave ointment, and most of all, soothe your lips - giving it a cold rub and a gentle massage.
