It took them quite a while, but Apple has just introduced an Android version of Apple Music. The long wait it took for the service to become available to Android devices, however, seems worth the wait.
Artists like The Beatles and Taylor Swift and radio service Beats 1 can now be enjoyed through a direct download in this link. At the moment, searches on Google Play for "Apple Music" ironically yields Spotify, Amazon Music, and Beats Music.
The Android app functions very similarly to its iOS version. For one, an Apple ID is required. If you are new to Apple, then you can sign up very easily.
After signing in, you get a free three-month trial and upgrade to a subscription afterwards, according to USA Today. If you do not want to sign in, an ad-supported radio for free is available.
Since the service is still in its Beta stage, the only subscription option available is the individual subscription at $9.99 per month. The family subscription for six people at $14.99 per month needs to be done on an Apple device like a Mac or iPhone.
As for the features, Apple Music for Android is complete except for music videos which are coming soon. The Beats 1 radio station is available and you can make your own based on music you like. This is done by following the artist using the "Connect" tab.
If you are one of those people who has amassed a huge iTunes library over the years, then My Music is for you. My Music includes everything in your library in addition to new songs from Apple Music, Engadget reported.
This means that your indie and live recordings would still be accessible through the iCloud Music Library that is integrated within Apple Music.
