A man is in police custody for reportedly groping "Modern Family" actress, Sarah Hyland, in Sydney on Thursday night.
The Associated Press reported that Australian police have charged the 29-year-old with indecently assaulting the actress. A police report stated that the suspect grabbed Hyland's breast, causing her to shout "Don't touch me there!" and burst into tears.
The man was reportedly asking Hyland to pose for a photograph. The actress immediately alerted private security guards, who called police to the scene.
The 23-year-old actress tweeted an apology to the fans she was unable to greet due to the incident.
"Sorry to all the fans outside the...event that I didn't get to say hi to but I had to leave due to an inappropriate touch of a fan," she wrote.
Her longtime boyfriend, actor Matt Prokop, also tweeted strong words Tuesday following the incident.
"To the a**hole who assaulted Sarah tonight I hope to God you don't see next week," he tweeted. "All Sarah wanted to do tonight was say hi to the girls who were waiting outside one douche can ruin it for everyone. Goodnight."
"Sorry for the 'offensive' tweet. But in the states we respect women."
The cast of the ABC series were in the country to shoot an Australian episode, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. The incident occurred while Hyland and her cast members, including Ariel Winter, Sofía Vergara, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, and Eric Stonestreet, were attending a social function.
