Comic Book Icon Garth Ennis Talks About Seth Rogen's 'Preacher' TV Series! What Did Jesse Custer's Creator Think About The Trailer?

It may still be a long wait before the premiere of the highly anticipated AMC TV series adaptation of the comic book 'Preacher,' but fans couldn't stop talking about the recently released trailer. The 'Preacher' trailer has even received praise from the comic book creator himself, Garth Ennis.

"I'm delighted with it," Ennis admitted to Comicbook.com. "I like Jesse's grim dialogue taking you through it, and his explosion into violence. And Cassidy's little moment at the end is the icing on the cake."

The comic book legend also admitted that although he doesn't know much about how fans are reacting to the trailer, it certainly has helped sell more of his works.

"I never really look at that sort of stuff because it's not my department, but I'm told lots of people are talking about the trailer- so great news for the guys pushing the show," Ennis said. "I did hear that Amazon sold out of book one, which is great."

And it looks like being the creator of a cult comic book series has its perks. Garth Ennis confirmed that the 'Preacher' trailer represents the TV show properly. After all, he's already seen the first episode of the series.

"I've seen the pilot, which I think is excellent - the trailer hits just the right note," he said.

Garth Ennis also revealed what he is most excited for about the 'Preacher' TV series.

"The thought of watching each episode as it's completed, seeing what they've done with the story," he said. "They've added a good deal to the basic plot of 'Preacher,' and I've been pleasantly surprised by the results."

The 'Preacher' TV series will be developed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The show features 'Agent Carter' star Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer, Ruth Negga as Tulip, Joe Gilgun as Cassidy and Ian Colletti as Arseface. It is expected to air on AMC in summer 2016.
