Microsoft has just unveiled the first batch of 104 backward compatible Xbox 360 games.
As what Major Nelson of Microsoft has unveiled in his blogspot, there are more than 100 Xbox 360 games that will now be playable on Xbox One. Nelson also announced that a firmware update will be available shortly.
The said games are the first batch of Xbox 360 games that will now be available on Xbox One. The said conversion of games was made possible thru the new feature of Xbox One called the New Xbox One Experience's expanded function.
In order to fully use the said feature, the backward-compatible Xbox 360 games must first have the approval of the video game's developer. After the approval, the game will then earn a certification to grant its release to Xbox One which will conclude to the assignment of the release schedule.
The video games were usually composed of some of the Microsoft's owned games. Arcade games and some videogames from several game developers like EA, Square-Enix and Ubisoft were also included.
Of the 104 videogames released, some of the popular games included are South Park: The Stick of Truth, the two Lego games which are Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga and Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game, Bethesda's Fallout 3 , Ubisoft's popular Rainbow Six: Vegas, and Assassin's Creed II, Square-Enix's Just Cause 2 and many more
Microsoft confirmed that some video games will have its backward compatibility support in the second batch of release. As what the American multinational company stated, some of the popular games that will be included in the next wave include Halo Reach, Halo Wars, Call of Duty: Black Ops, BioShock, BioShock 2, BioShock Infinite, and Skate 3.
The Xbox 360 backward compatibility will be available this coming November 12 as the update will be released for the New Xbox One Experience feature.
