Idris Elba Opens for Madonna in Rebel Heart Tour

Emmy Nominee Idris Elba may be known for his portrayal of a drug lord and businessman Russell "Stringer" Bell in HBO's The Wire, but he's also a musician and a DJ. His musical background has earned him a spot to open for Madonna's Rebel Heart Tour.

Idris Elba, The Luther and The Wire actor, is known to have a very strong music portfolio. He plays in bars but is more known for playing in Ibiza Rocks, Snowbombing and Glastonbury.

He goes by Driis in the music world. He'll be showing off his skills as a DJ and rapper in the first of Madonna's Berlin weekend shows. Last year, he recorded Mi Mandela - an album of South African music to accompany Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, a bio movie in which he stars as Nelson Mandela, Deadline reports.

Elba, the music producer, DJ and rapper will open for Madonna in Berlin on Tuesday at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, EW posted.

While he's stretching his musical nerves, Elba is also joining Disney's Zootopia as a brawny, goofy buffalo cop named Bogo. News are still going around if he is to become the next James Bond, however, there are no definite discussions that he is to succeed Daniel Craig as 007.

"It's all rumor-ville" Elba said back in September.

Madonna is known to invite famous celebrities to open her international tour. She had DJs Diplo, Lunice, Amy Schumer, Mary Mac and Rejjie Snow open for her North American and European tours.

Madonna's Rebel Heart Tour started in September 9, 2015 around Europe, North America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and ends on March 27, 2016 in Brisbane, Australia.

Possibly to prepare for his opening act, he was in Ibiza a while back. If you'd like to catch Idris Elba and his musical appearances, you can check his Twitter account frequently.
