Matt Damon allegedly wanted to follow the footsteps of close pal Ben Affleck and spend more time with the newly-single guy.
International Design Times reported that there are circulating reports which claim that the 45-year-old actor is facing a divorce with his wife Luciana Barroso because of Ben.
"The Martian" actor and his Argentinean wife are having a "sexless" marriage and the latter is getting annoyed when he is out with the "Batman" star. Starpulse shared that Luciana reportedly wanted to make the two friends apart in consideration of her family.
Parent Herald also shared that Ben and Matt's regular hang out caused tension between the "Good Will Hunting" actor and his wife. Moreover, it was unveiled that Luciana felt bad when her husband did not tell her that Ben and Jennifer Garner are already in talks for divorce.
"That really ticked Luciana off, and she accused him of keeping secrets from her. Things started to spiral from there... Ben acts like a frat boy around Matt, which she finds obnoxious. And she knows his history as a ladies' man. She was worried his bad influence will rub off on Matt," said a source revealed to the publication.
Matt and Luciana have been married for almost 10 years now. They have four children and their union seems pretty solid.
As a matter of fact, the couple has not seen too many tabloid headlines over the years. However, it seems to make sense that the reports rags would put out a story about Matt especially now that Ben is single; they are best friends after all.
Meanwhile, Gossip Cop claimed that the reports are not true. ""An impeccable source close to Damon tells [us] exclusively that the entire story is 'ridiculous.' In fact, we've learned he and his wife are currently in London with their family as he shoots the next Bourne movie," the entertainment news outlet reported.
Amid divorce rumors, Matt has a $90 million net worth per Celebrity Net Worth. The 45-year-old actor previously attended Harvard University from 1988 to 1992 but left before fully graduating.
Matt's biggest break came when Ben wrote the screenplay for 1997's "Good Will Hunting." They each bagged an Academy Award for Best Screenplay and Luciana's husband was nominated for Best Actor for the film.
