Justin Bieber 'Love Yourself': Singer Drops New Song Penned By Ed Sheeran

The countdown to Justin Bieber’s Purpose is closing in, and with only a few days left to go before release date, Bieber dropped two new tracks from the collection on Zane Lowe’s Beats Radio show Monday.

The 21-year-old has just released “Love Yourself” and “The Feeling,” two new songs from his upcoming album Purpose. The tracks debuted on Monday on the Beats 1 radio show.

Love Yourself,” co-written by Ed Sheeran, and “The Feeling,” a duet with Halsey, premiered with the help of Beats 1 host Zane Lowe. “The Feeling” was already teased last week, but this is the very first piece of audio fans are hearing from “Love Yourself.”

Most songs titled “Love Yourself” are probably pretty uplifting, but not when it comes to Justin Bieber! When the chart topper released his latest tune from Purpose with that exact title on November 9, fans immediately realized it’s a diss song. Despite the harsh lyrics, the song itself is actually quite beautiful.

The acoustic "Love Yourself" is the most subdued and least electronic of Bieber's new tracks. Following up the Skrillex-assisted songs like "Sorry" and "I'll Show You," "Love Yourself" is a more intimate acoustic song featuring just vocals and guitar.

"My mama don't like you, and she likes everyone," Bieber sings in a style that molds well to Sheeran's during the pre-chorus. "And I don't like to admit that I was wrong. And I've been so caught up in my job, didn't see what's going on, and now I know, I'm better sleeping on my own."

Bieber called into Lowe’s show before the planned world premiere of “Love Yourself,” but when Lowe said he would play one song, Bieber asked, “Only one song? We should play the whole album… Play the Halsey song.” Lowe obliged, spinning “The Feeling,” featuring Halsey.

Bieber has already released music and dance videos for his previous songs, so fans can probably expect videos for his two new tracks to emerge soon.

Purpose is also being turned into a 35-minute dance movie that will encompass all 18 songs from the album, with each track getting its own dance sequence.

Purpose will be released on November 13.
