Actress Rosie Perez has some harsh words for singer and actress Jennifer Lopez in her new memoir, "Handbook for an Unpredictable Life".
According to New York Post, Perez is claiming that she was involved in a long running feud with fellow Latina Lopez. The two met in 1991 on the 90s hit show, "Living Color," where Perez was the choreographer and Lopez was auditioning to be a dancer.
The "Pineapple Express" actress claimed that she convinced host and creator Keenan Ivory Wayans to pick Lopez, who he thought was too fat for the show, reportedly calling the Bronx-native "chubby and corny."
However, Perez wrote that Lopez changed over the years. The "American Idol" judge reportedly began acting like a diva, making trouble for the other dancers.
"All of the girls were coming into my office complaining how she was manipulating wardrobe, makeup, and me, all to her advantage," Perez wrote in her memoir, adding that Lopez thought the girls were just "jealous."
Perez also mentioned an argument where Lopez reportedly "went off" at her like, "some ghetto biatch, screaming and pounding her chest!"
Perez wrote that Lopez shouted, "You pick on me, me and only me, every f**king day! Every f**king day! I work my ass off, deliver and you keep pushing me aside, treating me like s**t! I know I'm good! I'm better than any of these girls, and you know it."
The New York Daily News reported that while on "Living Color" Lopez told people that Perez treated Lopez badly. Lopez was on the show for two seasons and later went on to pursue her acting and music career, but Perez claimed that Lopez continued to make harsh remarks about her.
"I was blindsided" Perez wrote. "I'd thought we were cool. I called her up. She wouldn't pick up. Frustrated, I left her an irate message on her answering machine. Instead of calling me back and hashing it out like friends do, she went on a major talk show and reiterated my lashing."
The 49-year-old actress said she was surprised when Lopez acted friendly toward her in a nightclub years later.
"Jennifer came over to me, smiling, saying hello as if nothing had happened. I should've let it go, played it off, too. Instead, I killed her with my biting tongue," Perez wrote.
"Handbook for an Unpredictable Life" will be available Feb. 25.
