Daniel Craig's net worth has been skyrocketing since he got the role of a lifetime playing super spy 007 in the "James Bond" franchise.
Even though the latest "James Bond" instalment made $300 million globally over the last two weekends, the actor doesn't want to reprise the role. He even received quite the backlash after telling TimeOut London that he'd "rather break this glass and slash my wrists" than play 007 again, according to The Inquisitr.
Rumors have ensued since the actor made the comment, but now reports are emerging that the franchise's producers want to get Craig on board in the film again, adding that sorting his contract is all that's left to be done.
"We think we've got him but we don't have a contract," Michael G Wilson told The Mirror. Wilson co-produced all four Bond films which Craig starred in.
Bond producer Barbara Broccoli thinks the same, saying that Daniel Craig's "slashing wrists" comment was due to an eight-month shoot that got the actor tired.
"I think we all feel at the end of a movie that the thought of doing another one right away is always a little bit too much to contemplate. It's like childbirth. You don't ask a woman who's just given birth, 'oh when are you going to do it again?'" she said.
As for "Spectre" director Sam Mendes, while he told Deadline he isn't returning, he said he thinks Craig still has a chance of going back to reprise the super spy role despite Craig's "slashing wrists" comments.
"[My] analogy is, you're running your first marathon, and 200 yards from the finish line, some guy shouts, 'Are you going to run another one straight away?' I get why Daniel responded the way he did," said the director, according to The Independent.
Daniel Craig's net worth started rising when his career took off in 2001 playing alongside Angelina Jolie in the movie "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider." While he has already appeared in dozens of films, what he's most famous for, and what most likely really his earnings rising, is playing super spy James Bond.
So how much is the actor worth?
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Daniel Craig's net worth is $95 million, with the bulk of his earnings coming from the "James Bond" films. He began playing 007 with 2006's "Casion Royale", earning $594,239,066. Later the same year, "Quantum of Solace" came out.
The role set Daniel Craig's net worth on the rise. 2012's "Skyfall" reportedly earned over $1 billion worldwide, a first for any Bond film. Other films Daniel Craig has starred in hasn't even come close to the "Skyfall" earnings. "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo's" $232 million worldwide certainly pales in comparison.
"Spectre" is still showing in cinemas.
